About The Position

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Washington State. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with some geotechnical/environmental engineering experience looking for an opportunity to work with senior engineers and scientists on a wide variety of projects. The position involves both field and office work, offering a career with an established geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting firm that values employee enthusiasm and technical contributions.

Requirements

B.S. in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with emphasis on geology, geotechnical, and environmental coursework.
E.I.T/F.E; or G.I.T. preferred.
0 to 2 years of practical engineering and field experience.
Willing to travel locally on a routine basis, and may need to travel out of area occasionally.
Excellent communication, both verbal and written and organizational abilities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams), Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or Bluebeam.
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.

Responsibilities

Supporting project managers with a variety of tasks, both in the field and in the office.
Performing geotechnical and environmental investigations and construction monitoring related to earthwork and stormwater in the field.
Conducting field exploration programs including managing subcontractors.
Interpreting geologic, hydrogeologic, and engineering characteristics of the subsurface.
Performing geotechnical engineering analysis for infrastructure and development projects such as foundation, retaining wall, and pavement design.
Overseeing soil excavation, demolitions, and environmental treatment system installations under the supervision of an experienced CM.
Conducting office activities including analysis and interpretation of analytical results and the preparation of summary reports under the supervision of project managers.
Learning and staying up-to-date on guidance, state and federal environmental regulations.
Delivering processed data in an organized fashion, following data management and network standards.
Participating in training events, project meetings, and engineering team meetings.
Working and traveling safely, following company and site safety standards, maintaining permits and training certificates.
Working on several projects at one time and maintaining successful client relations.
Interacting with clients, construction personnel, and sub-contractors as a professional representative of Wood.
May require weekend or night work.
