Requirements

  • University degree in Civil/Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
  • Completion of advanced or specialized university courses in geotechnical engineering and foundation engineering (Masters’ degree an asset)
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in Ontario is required
  • Minimum of 6 years of solid Geotechnical engineering experience
  • Experience in geotechnical related work such as site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability and on-site review of construction activities (asset)
  • Ability to work independently, secure business and deliver geotechnical reports with minimal supervision
  • Current registration with MTO's RAQs for foundations and/or tunneling disciplines an asset
  • Demonstrated ability that you are well organized, show initiative and can manage a team of technicians and/or subcontractors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at any given time and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety

  • Experience in geotechnical related work such as site investigations, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability and on-site review of construction activities

Responsibilities

  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules
  • Responsible for project management and delivery of geotechnical investigations and analysis for engineering studies for deep and shallow foundations (static, seismic and dynamic machine loadings)
  • Experience with slope and earth structure stability, hydrogeology studies, excess soil regulations, stormwater control facilities, in-situ testing
  • Knowledge and experience with geotechnical instrumentation, construction inspection and laboratory testing
  • Play a key role on the engineering team providing leadership and mentoring of other team members
  • Prepare Technical proposals and write engineering reports
  • Business Development, client liaison and management
