Are you ready to design your future? Be our next Geotechnical Engineer! Your work environment at EXP In this role you will be a part of the infrastructure group in the Northeast market. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our transit, rail control systems, structural, roadway, and tunneling practices and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Geotechnical Engineer to support major transit and rail projects throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 3-5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
Experience supporting infrastructure, transportation, transit, aviation, building, or land development projects.
Experience with geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, and technical report preparation.
Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain preferred.
Familiarity with NYC-area geological conditions and subsurface construction challenges is preferred.
Working knowledge of applicable NYSDOT, MTA, Port Authority, NYCDEP, and NYC DOB standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design for transportation, transit, aviation, infrastructure, and development projects.
Assist with planning and execution of subsurface investigations, including drilling, sampling, field testing, and laboratory testing programs.
Evaluate geotechnical data and prepare engineering reports with recommendations for foundations, earth retention systems, ground improvement, pavement design, embankments, and slope stability.
Develop foundation designs for shallow and deep foundation systems.
Support the design of retaining walls, support-of-excavation systems, and temporary structures.
Perform settlement analyses, seepage evaluations, and geotechnical modeling using industry-standard software.
Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, and construction teams throughout project delivery.
Conduct site visits and construction observation activities as required.
Assist in preparing technical proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
Contribute to client interactions and support business development initiatives.
