About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their National Water Management Team and Water South team. This role involves delivering impactful projects that support communities across the country. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction, gaining exposure to complex infrastructure challenges and building technical and project leadership capabilities. The position will perform geotechnical analyses for levees, dams, floodwalls, and other hydraulic structures. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of geotechnical experience.
  • EIT/PE Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 8 years of geotechnical experience.
  • Experience in managing project teams and collaborating with other technical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in using programs such as gINT, SEEPW, SLOPEW, CWALSHT, PYWall, LPILE, and GROUP.
  • Experience in geotechnical analyses for dams, levees, cofferdams, and foundations for various hydraulic structures.
  • Seepage, static and seismic stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, deformation analysis, and foundation and settlement analysis experience.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in delivering engineering and consulting services for projects focused on flood risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, and lock and navigation structure design.
  • Partner closely with clients and internal leaders to shape project scope, develop innovative solutions, and ensure successful, on-time delivery.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers.
  • Prepare geotechnical recommendations for designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary Water Management team (Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineers) to deliver innovative designs.
  • Evaluate data from instrumentation systems at levees, spillways, outlet works, and slopes.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical field investigations.
  • Design and analyze heavy civil and earthen structures.
  • Prepare design/bid packages for permitting/construction.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction administration and inspection services.
  • Plan field exploration and laboratory testing programs.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses for levees, dams, floodwalls, and other hydraulic structures.
  • Conduct seepage, static and seismic stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, deformation analysis, and foundation and settlement analysis.
