Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Students entering their junior year, senior year, or graduate studies are encouraged to apply.
- Strong interest in developing engineering and technical skills in a consulting environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and deliver quality work.
- Ability to use sound judgment and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to travel to project and field locations as needed.
- Interest in learning geotechnical engineering fundamentals relevant to mine facility design and construction practices.
- Interest in learning to read and understand construction engineering plans and drawings, including sheet references and layering.
- Proficiency in MS Office
Nice To Haves
- Experience with geotechnical engineering software preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of major earthwork projects, including tailings dams, heap leach facilities, and ancillary infrastructure.
- Assist with geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability, seepage, and liquefaction evaluations.
- Prepare civil layouts and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Assist with the preparation of design reports and project proposals.
- Support geotechnical aspects of permitting, reclamation, and closure activities.
