About The Position

The primary role of the Geotechnical Driller's Assistant is to support a driller in the field with auger/rotary drilling machines for soil borings, soil sampling, and rock coring. This includes tasks such as mixing drill mud, handling casing, and managing other equipment. The assistant will also be responsible for safely driving equipment to and from job locations and assisting in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and the work area after each job. The work is primarily outdoors and may be performed in varying weather conditions. The role requires the ability to work well under supervision and involves extensive travel in the Midwest area, with hotel costs and per diem covered by KVE. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for career advancement, including obtaining a CDL and training to become a driller.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must work well while under supervision.
  • Must be able to travel extensively (required) in the Midwest area.

Nice To Haves

  • A Class A CDL license is a plus.
