About The Position

The Geospatial Systems Developer I develops and maintains geospatial solutions that support business operations and decision-making. The role works with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions using industry-standard and open-source geospatial tools. Work includes spatial data processing, map creation, and solution development, while building foundational skills in geospatial analysis, software development, cloud-based GIS platforms, and the software development lifecycle in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Programming, Planning, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of education.
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or R for geospatial analysis.
• Exposure to open-source GIS tools such as GeoServer and PostGIS.
• Understanding of spatial data formats and standards such as GeoJSON and OGC.

Nice To Haves

• Internship or project experience in GIS or spatial analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop geospatial solutions using tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and open-source platforms.
• Create interactive maps and dashboards using web technologies such as Leaflet and Mapbox.
• Process and analyze spatial data using Python, SQL, and cloud-based tools.
• Support and troubleshoot GIS systems and solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in Agile development cycles and contribute to team sprints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
