About The Position

Avid Core is seeking a Geospatial Management Analyst with experience utilizing geographic information systems to support a federal government client in Washington, D.C. We’re looking for a passionate, detail-oriented person interested in supporting federal law enforcement. Salary Range: $40,000-$75,000, based on experience and qualifications. This full-time position is based at federal client sites in Washington, DC. The selected candidate must be available to work onsite and may be assigned between two downtown client locations. Avid Core is an award-winning small woman-owned business headquartered in Northern Virginia with employees throughout the Washington DC metro area. We provide effective strategic communications, project management, public outreach, and innovative marketing strategies to public and private sector clients.

Requirements

  • Must have a strong understanding of GIS workflows and database fundamentals
  • 3+ years of GIS experience supporting a public sector client
  • Proficiency with the full Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Exceptional editing and data analysis skills to ensure deliverables submitted to the client for final approval are complete and error-free
  • Candidates shall have a demonstrated high level of competence using the ESRI ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Pro
  • Ability to obtain and retain the required federal security clearance is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience analyzing data and developing Power BI tools and dashboards is a plus.
  • Experience supporting federal, state, local, or other public-sector clients is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports government operations to perform geographic information system activities; requirements analysis and development; support field activities; and ancillary activities required to acquire and deploy equipment and maintain facilities.
  • Supports the creation and maintenance of both static and web-based GIS solutions
  • Perform complex analysis and mapping projects to support national security operations
  • Extract, transform, and load data into GIS databases
  • Work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps accomplished by using an appropriate combination of tools found in the GIS application suite and other programming environments
  • Support development of Sharepoint, PowerBI tools, and informational databases.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned
