In-Person | Part-Time | Geometry Tutor
About The Position
A family in Orchard Park is seeking a reliable, engaging, and academically focused part-time tutor to support their freshman daughter with Geometry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with motivated students. The student is a strong, driven 9th grader currently taking Geometry who learns best through visual instruction and consistent practice. The tutor will provide support with homework, reinforcing lessons, and building strong study habits. This is an ongoing position throughout the school year, with typical hours falling between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. The position starts ASAP.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Geometry tutoring or relevant teaching experience
- Strong understanding of high school-level math concepts
- Experience working with high school students
- CPR certified (or willing to obtain)
- Able to pass a background and social media check
- 2 professional references from paid tutoring roles
- Comfortable around family pets: Dad’s home: Friendly black lab, Mom’s home: Independent, friendly cat
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support in Geometry concepts and coursework
- Review and reinforce lessons taught in class
- Assist with homework completion and accuracy
- Introduce effective study habits and problem-solving strategies
- Offer additional practice and skill-building exercises
- Adapt teaching style to visual and practice-based learning needs
- Build confidence and maintain strong academic performance
