About The Position

The Superintendent of Geology provides site-level leadership for all geological, grade control, and growth activities, ensuring that geological strategy, technical standards, and operational delivery are fully aligned with site objectives and the strategies of all functional teams. The role carries accountability for ore definition, geological risk management, and value creation through disciplined data acquisition, interpretation, and integration into mine planning and production decision-making. Geological programs are structured to directly support safe, efficient, and profitable mining while maintaining compliance with corporate, regulatory, and environmental requirements. The Superintendent sets and governs geological frameworks, domaining rules, classification standards, and modelling approaches across all production, development, and life-of-mine models. Geological programs are prioritized and sequenced to balance near-term production needs with longer-term resource growth, aligning drilling, mapping, and sampling programs with mine plans, geotechnical constraints, metallurgical performance, and processing capacity. Geological uncertainty and risk are actively quantified, communicated, and managed through structured review processes and cross-functional engagement. The role leads, develops, and structures the geology team, ensuring that roles, responsibilities, and development pathways are clearly defined and aligned with site strategy. Performance expectations, succession planning, and training programs are actively managed to build sustainable technical capability and leadership depth. A culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement is established across all geology functions. Operationally, the Superintendent ensures that grade control systems, ore and waste tracking, material movement, reconciliation, and mine-to-mill processes are robust, consistent, and auditable. Contractor performance, drilling productivity, data quality, and turnaround times are monitored to ensure geological inputs meet production requirements. Site-level reconciliation trends are reviewed to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities, and corrective actions are driven across departments. The role holds accountability for safety and environmental compliance within geological work scopes and ensures that programs are executed within approved permits and regulatory frameworks. The Superintendent provides technical input into site risk management, major change processes, and operational readiness, and represents geology in site leadership and technical governance forums. Strategically, the role integrates geology into business planning, budgeting, and life-of-asset strategy, ensuring exploration, resource definition, and grade control investments are optimized for value and risk. Through strong leadership, technical credibility, and cross-functional collaboration, the Superintendent of Geology ensures that geology is technically rigorous, operationally relevant, and strategically aligned with the long-term success of the operation.
