Requirements

  • 4-year degree in geological sciences, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of related work experience, including experience as technical leader with oversight of a group of lower-level geoscience/hydrogeological professionals
  • Consulting experience in both the office (writing work plans, reports, coordinating field projects, etc.) and field (Health & Safety responsibility, subcontractor/drilling oversight, groundwater/soil sampling, etc.).
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
  • OSHA 8-hour Supervisor training
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction training
  • Experience planning, executing, and leading environmental sampling programs
  • Professional Geologist/Geoscientist Registration, or application in process
  • Strong communication and writing
  • Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and perform field work up to 60% of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in geology, or related natural sciences discipline.
  • Experience or interest in managing staff
  • Experience with PFAS projects and PFAS sampling procedures
  • Ability to perform leadership role supporting PFAS, mining, and/or conventional contaminant projects
  • Interest in the development and implementation of a standardized field techniques training program

Responsibilities

  • Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
  • Assist with the drafting of technical proposals and project documents, such as work plans, UFP-QAPPs, monitoring reports, and closure reports.
  • Leading field work efforts for environmental investigations, including overseeing drilling, conducting low flow groundwater monitoring, push-ahead groundwater sampling, surface water and sediment sample collection, lysimeter sampling, and soil sample collection.
  • Participating in multiple teams simultaneously working on varied projects pertaining to investigation and remediation
  • Lead geologic, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry tasks including preparation of cross sections, development of 3D models, and data evaluation of environmental sample analyses.
