About The Position

Gain hands-on experience with our Exploration Data & Analytics team - where data meets geoscience. As a Geological Technologist Student, you will work alongside geoscientists, GIS specialists, and data professionals to organize, clean, and quality-check geological and spatial datasets, prepare asset-ready data outputs, and support simple, repeatable workflows. You will also gain exposure to GIS software, databases, and basic scripting, while supporting real exploration projects. You will work with real subsurface datasets used in decision-making, gaining exposure to how data supports exploration activities in a live business environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is curious, motivated, and eager to learn - offering hands-on experience with data, tools, and processes used to support exploration activities!

Requirements

  • Recently completed (or upcoming) diploma/degree in an Engineering Technology program, Data Analytics, GIS, or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Motivated self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrate accountability and attention to detail in assigned tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Follow established workflows and standards under guidance from experienced team members

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing geological and geophysical datasets (well data, logs, core data, interpretations)
  • Perform data validation, cleaning, and quality control
  • Support data loading and maintenance in systems (e.g., Petrel, OpenWorks, ArcGIS, or internal databases)
  • Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and data teams to ensure accurate and timely data delivery
  • Document workflows, metadata, and data standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in data governance and automation
  • Help prepare datasets for analysis and visualization
  • Support a broad range of geotechnical activities in the exploration department
