Join us as we assist mining companies in getting mined materials to communities around the globe. We are seeking an intern to reside in our Denver, CO office. As part of our Mining Site Assessment and Remediation Team, you will work alongside geologists, engineers, hydrogeologists, and environmental scientists on projects that support mine reclamation, mine closure, hydrogeologic investigations, and environmental remediation. You'll gain hands-on consulting experience through technical analyses, field investigations, data evaluation, and preparation of project deliverables while contributing to meaningful projects for mining clients across North America.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in college/university and/or on summer break between semesters.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or secondary degree in geology, environmental sciences, geological/geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
• Positive attitude with strong relationship building skills.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work in a team setting.
• Good communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations.
• Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within the team.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Must be willing and able to take initiative when needed.
• Good MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company HSSE policies and project-specific safety plans.
• Maintain situational awareness and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during office and field activities.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Participate in daily safety moments, hazard analysis, and preparation of field health and safety planning documents.
• Work with a multi-disciplined geological, environmental, hydrogeological, and engineering team on a day-to-day basis.
• Participate in team meetings and project meetings.
• Actively engage with project team members such as project managers and project technical leads to complete tasks.
• Assist project teams with data management, technical research, engineering calculations, environmental and geotechnical analyses, and preparation of technical reports, figures, and project documentation.
• Support coordination with testing laboratories, develop proficiency in engineering software, and contribute to technical papers, training events, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Potentially participate in field investigations and site visits, as opportunities arise and based on project needs, under the mentorship of experienced professionals to gain practical, hands-on experience supporting technical projects.
