About The Position

This role involves preparing metal parts for powder coating, operating powder coating equipment, applying finishes, monitoring curing processes, and ensuring quality control. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean work area, completing documentation, and assisting with equipment maintenance.

Requirements

Knowledge of powder coat application techniques, curing processes, and surface preparation
Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety guidelines
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic mechanical aptitude

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred
Prior powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, masking, hanging, and inspecting components prior to coating
Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, booths, and curing ovens
Apply powder coat finishes evenly and consistently according to work instructions and specifications
Monitor oven temperatures and cure times to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality
Inspect finished parts for defects such as runs, thin coverage, orange peel, or contamination
Perform touch-ups or rework as required to meet quality standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe powder coat area
Follow all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
Complete required production and quality documentation
Communicate issues related to equipment, materials, or quality to supervision
Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment
Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
