About The Position

23andMe Research Institute is seeking a Genomic Health Associate to bring clinical genetics expertise to a broad and distinctive range of work spanning product development, clinician engagement, genetics education, medical review, and social media. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career genetic counselor who is passionate about population-health genomics and improving genomic health literacy. Reporting to the Senior Genomic Health Manager and working closely with teams across Product, Brand, Marketing, and Customer Care, you'll serve as a clinical thought partner, ensuring clinical accuracy across the full lifecycle of health product development while also creating public-facing educational content, and supporting clinicians and building clinical resources. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how genetics is communicated and understood across multiple audiences and channels, including social media. We're looking for someone who is creative, curious, and energized by the idea of applying their genetics training in new and unexpected ways.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent from an ABGC-approved genetic counseling program.
• American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification, or active candidacy with certification expected within 12 months of hire.
• California Genetic Counseling License, or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex genetic concepts to both clinical and lay audiences, including comfort with public speaking and presenting to professional audiences.
• Familiarity with AI tools and a willingness to incorporate AI-assisted workflows.
• Experience with social media platforms and interest in representing 23andMe on camera.
• High attention to detail and commitment to clinical accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
• Commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion as a core lens across all work.

Responsibilities

• Create genetics education content for various audiences, including the general public, students, educators, and healthcare professionals.
• Develop resources to support healthcare professionals, including newsletters, emails, website content, and clinical support resources.
• Create and review social media content related to genetics and health.
• Apply clinical genetics expertise to support the development of new product health offerings and features, from early-stage scientific review and content development through launch.
• Serve as a credible 23andMe resource providing on-site support at key conferences and delivering scientific and clinical presentations.
• Participate in evidence generation through clinical and translational research opportunities related to genetic testing implementation and health outcomes.
• Respond to product-related inquiries from healthcare professionals and customers in collaboration with customer care and quality teams.

• 23andMe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for a candidate based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. San Francisco Bay Area Base Pay Range $120,000-$150,000
