About The Position
The Genetic Counselor Entry position supports the Pediatric Genetics team with the provision of high-quality patient care. The role focuses on the coordination of genetic testing and hereditary risk counseling for pediatric patients and their families.
Requirements
- Master's Degree Required
- Eligible for American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification
Nice To Haves
- 0-2 years’ experience in pediatric genetic counseling preferred
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform all services provided by the Pediatric Genetics Counseling team under the supervision of the Geneticist.
- Prepare charts for clinical encounters
- Coordinate genetic testing for various hereditary syndromes
- Perform all aspects of hereditary risk counseling
- Conduct literature reviews to identify evidence-based guidance for specific syndromes
- Provide education to referring physicians and the community at large about hereditary syndromes
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Medical Director
