We are seeking a highly motivated laboratory scientist to join Pfizer Global Research and Development laboratories based in Groton, CT. The Scientist position is in the Genetic Toxicology department within Safety Sciences. The scientist will work as part of a team to conduct in vitro genetic toxicology studies in support of drug discovery and development. The primary responsibilities of the position are to conduct next generation sequencing (NGS) experiments and cell biology-based work to identify genotoxic compounds and data processing. Commitment to scientific understanding of the data and development of technical expertise are required. The successful candidate will have expertise in automation and high throughput assays, in addition to working in a cellular biology laboratory and demonstrate ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • B.S degree with at least 6 to 8 years OR M.S degree with 4 to 6 years’ experience working in a biology laboratory
  • Mastery of automation, cell culture, and molecular techniques
  • Responds well to scientific challenges and applies significant rigor to their own work
  • Self-aware; will seek input from others on ideas and problem-solving; uses others as a resource
  • Change agile, capable of quickly adapting to changes in project direction, role assignments, reporting relationships and department organization.
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.
