About The Position

Propels the mission of the organization to support individualized cancer treatment, and identification of individuals and families at risk of hereditary cancer, through education, genetic counseling, testing and support in the Hereditary Cancer Clinic. Provides genetic counseling, testing and results disclosure to individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer disorders by referral. Provides post-test counseling for In Our DNA SC participants who test positive for mutation and facilitates connection with the Hereditary Cancer Clinic. Supports Hereditary Cancer Clinic by providing pre-appointment family pedigree assessment and discussion of cascade testing. Supports cancer center tumor boards and accreditation standards. Serves as content expert providing education to the community, patients, families, providers, and staff relative to the dynamic changing landscape surrounding cancer genetics from prevention, treatment, and testing perspectives. Supports expansion of the genetic counseling field through precepting students.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of experience
  • State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position.
