About The Position
F.H. Furr is seeking a Generator Technician to join our team and provide exceptional service by installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing residential standby generator systems. Our journey began in 1981, and today, we are known for providing top-quality home comfort solutions across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the Washington, D.C. region. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for helping homeowners maintain reliable backup power. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, educating customers, and recommending solutions that enhance system performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Generator Technician, Generator Installer, Electrical Technician, or related field service professional
- Proven expertise in installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing residential standby generators
- Strong commitment to delivering an outstanding homeowner experience
- Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally to homeowners
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver's license is required for this role. Company policy requires that all drivers be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities
- Install residential standby generator systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on residential generator systems
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, fuel system, and operational issues
- Conduct startup, commissioning, and performance testing of newly installed equipment
- Educate homeowners on generator operation, maintenance requirements, and available service options
