About The Position

Solution One is seeking a Generator Technician for our client's West Texas and New Mexico sectors, based in Lordsburg, New Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating a variety of generators, ensuring they function efficiently and reliably to support United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations. This role involves troubleshooting engines, fuel systems, controls, and generators using technical prints and diagrams, and collaborating with other maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with operational standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a vocational or trade school program or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • At least five (5) years of generator maintenance experience for contracts of similar size and scope.
  • Demonstrated experience applying ISO, AS9100, or comparable quality standards.
  • Strong interactive skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a CBP Background Investigation.
  • Experience in large, geographically dispersed, or headquarters-level quality surveillance activities.
  • Must possess a current valid state driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting engines, fuel systems, controls, and generators using technical documents.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-amperage and high-voltage generator operations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call assignments, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work at an accelerated pace under emergencies or operational demands.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items.
  • Required to lift and carry weight over 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in an austere environment.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights as necessary.

  • Demonstrated experience with Defense and aerospace industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other contracted maintenance services.
  • Experience with IBM® TRIRIGA® Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS).
  • Experience with Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS).
  • Experience with Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSRs).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of generator engines, fuel systems, and controls.
  • Operate and maintain megawatt-rated high-amperage and high-voltage generators.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and measurement of the maintenance management system and Zero-Defect initiatives.
  • Work on-call, rotational shifts, and during nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Apply Solution One policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other tools for troubleshooting.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to other team members, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
  • Monitor and collaborate with other maintenance trades to ensure service quality.
  • Collaborate with quality management system elements, other support functions, and customers to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
  • Support supplier development and engagement in coordination with Supply Chain Management.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics that measure system effectiveness and identify trends requiring corrective action.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action when performance does not meet defined requirements.
  • Clearly communicate and/or simplify complex issues to stakeholders who may not have a technical background.
  • Maintain all generators in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.
  • Maintain all maintenance metrics and standards in accordance with corporate and CBP standards.
  • Keep detailed records of work performed, parts used, and issues resolved.
  • Demonstrate a zero-compromise commitment to safety and risk management.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, fire protection, environmental laws, and security requirements.
  • Exhibit integrity, reliability, and sound judgment in the performance of duties.
  • Maintain all required certifications, licenses, and security clearance requirements.
  • Represent Solution One Industries professionally while working alongside CBP personnel and government officials.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Coordinate effectively with CBP stakeholders, contracted workforce, and corporate staff.
  • Provide clear and timely communication regarding quality requirements, operational issues, and any issue that degrades the operational mission readiness of the customer.
  • Support a collaborative, mission-focused environment that promotes operational excellence.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, accountability, and mission performance.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100D Quality Standards as directed and/or identified in the Solution One Quality Management System/Plan.
