2027 Generative Media Research Intern
About The Position
Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on improving communication and life through its camera technology. The company operates Snapchat, Bitmoji, Saturn, and other digital services. At Snap, the Product and Design teams create new technology, partnering with Engineering to develop innovative features and products. They explore technology transfers and academic publications, aiming to foster collaborations that may extend beyond the internship. The goal is to create a productive and fun environment for interns interested in advancing the state of the art in large generative models, GenAI efficiency, personalization, 3D & 4D generation and understanding, visual-language models, large scale data, and inference frameworks. Snap practices a “default together” approach, expecting team members to work in the office at least 80% of the time (an average of 4 days per week) to foster culture, reinforce values, and enhance collaboration.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a graduate program (PhD preferred) in a technical field, such as Computer Science
- Graduating no sooner than May 2027
- Experience conducting academic research and applying technical concepts to real-world problems
- Strong academic performance in technical coursework
- Clear vision for how research initiatives could contribute to future innovation at Snap
- Must be able to work in office for a 13-16 week internship in 2027
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative work environment
- Proven ability solving tough technical challenges
Nice To Haves
- Strong publication records in world’s top venues in our field: CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, SIGGRAPH and similar venues.
- Previous experience with large generative models: large scale training and tuning, large scale data, large scale inference, model post-training, model efficiency.
- A passion for research and Snap Inc. products.
