About The Position

American Management Association (AMA), a world leader in talent development, is looking for a Generative AI Intern who wants to gain hands-on experience building a conversational AI chatbot prototype. This internship will focus on developing an AI assistant that can search large collections of documents and deliver accurate, conversational responses.

Requirements

Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. (International students must be able to provide proof of work authorization)
Applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Basic programming knowledge (Python or JavaScript)
Familiarity with web development fundamentals
Understanding of APIs and how to use them
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Strong curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies

Nice To Haves

Experience with AI tools such as OpenAI APIs preferred
Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in building a prototype AI chatbot capable of conversational interaction
Integrate document collections into a searchable system using modern AI techniques
Experiment with prompts to refine and improve AI-generated responses
Enhance information retrieval accuracy using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts
Design and test conversational workflows, including follow-up questions and user interactions
Evaluate chatbot performance and recommend improvements
Collaborate with team members on features and functionality while developing a simple web-based chat interface
