Generative AI Consultant

Sia•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Sia is a global management consulting group whose AI & Data Business Unit combines data science, Generative AI, and digital solutions. The unit has more than 350 experts worldwide and 12 R&D labs in Europe and North America. The Generative AI Consultant designs and implements GenAI and LLM solutions across industries, bridging technical teams such as Data Science, ML, and Platform with business needs. The role advises clients on appropriate approaches—including RAG, agents, and fine-tuning—and develops robust AI products through benchmarking, prototyping, and validation. It coordinates the AI workflow and model integration, with attention to performance, security, scalability, and infrastructure. Training is provided. The role includes building and deploying LLM applications, implementing MLOps practices, evaluating and improving model quality and safety, and supporting responsible AI and compliance. Consultants work with cross-functional teams and clients, communicate technical concepts to varied audiences, document practices, and contribute to internal research and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, train, fine-tune, and deploy AI models using LLMs and other generative techniques.
  • Assist the GenAI Solution Architect in designing robust, scalable, and secure applications.
  • Develop GenAI-powered applications using self-managed or API-accessible models to meet business needs and comply with applicable regulations, including GDPR and the EU AI Act.
  • Design and optimize advanced prompts and guardrails to improve analytical capabilities, outputs, user experience, and interaction control.
  • Design and implement RAG architectures that retrieve information from selected knowledge sources and provide source attribution.
  • Select and fine-tune appropriate models, including multimodal and small language models, to create high-quality content and business value.
  • Apply MLOps practices across the GenAI lifecycle, including automated CI/CD pipelines, versioning, monitoring, and production maintenance on cloud platforms.
  • Integrate models with existing systems and external tools or APIs, potentially using standardized protocols such as MCP.
  • Develop and execute evaluation frameworks measuring performance, reliability, fairness, and safety.
  • Support Responsible AI practices and help teams and clients navigate security and compliance processes.
