About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist I works with HR management and Operations management to provide associate relations support necessary to enable successful operations in a manufacturing facility. Provides day-to-day HR support by serving as the primary point of contact for associates and supervisors for assigned teams/crews in a manufacturing environment. This position has responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in Human Resources is preferred.
  • In lieu of 1 to 2 years of HR experience, a minimum of 5 years of a combination of relevant experience and education is required.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Time management & strong organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and people skills.

  • Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs and HRIS systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven employee relations experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems, ADP, and Kronos is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, major in human resources or business is preferred.
  • A PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the day-to-day management of HR operations, administration of policies and procedures and programs of the organization.
  • Partnering with manufacturing associates and supervisors in the plant to provide HR guidance.
  • Coordinate with Benefits, Payroll, and other HR internal departments to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
  • Is responsible for employee relations; with oversight, communicates & assists in resolving associates’ concerns appropriately and in a timely and ethical fashion.
  • Administers the day-to-day functions of the HR Generalist for onboarding, off-boarding, recruitment, leave cases and employment status changes.
  • Assisting talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Organizes, manages, and maintains confidential personnel and human resources information files electronically.
  • Recommends improvements to HR processes and systems.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, policy interpretation and adherence.
  • Participates with planning and implementation of team and personal goals.
  • Oversees and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.
  • Gathers and analyzes data with useful HR metrics; prepares reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
