About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a General X-Ray Technologist to join their Medical Imaging team. This is a permanent full-time position. Humber River Health, established in 2015 as North America's first fully digital hospital, is dedicated to transforming healthcare through technology and clinical expertise. They serve a community of 850,000 residents in North West Toronto and prioritize equity, inclusivity, and community connection. The role involves performing various x-ray exams, operating diverse equipment, preparing and assessing patients, reviewing images, and adhering to radiation safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be registered and in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Must have past experience in Emergency, Operating Room and Portable Radiology.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team internally and externally to the Medical Imaging Department.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
  • Must be willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the department when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all x-ray exams as per determined departmental protocols.
  • Includes general x-ray, O.R., Portables, Gastric exams, Fluoroscopy and minor procedures.
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment including general x-ray rooms (DR & CR), mobile x-ray, c-arm fluoroscopy, general fluoroscopy and multi-purpose rooms.
  • Prepare and assess patients for radiologic procedures including obtaining consent and confirming exam validity, resourcing radiologists as is necessary and sterile technique practices.
  • Complete exam process by image review, confirming documentation and presenting to radiologists for reporting via film and/or PACS.
  • Knowledge of and dutifully follows radiation safety practices for the protection of the patient, colleagues and their own occupational dose.
