About The Position

This role cuts, sands, inspects, and assembles custom cabinet components. The General Worker will be responsible for reading and examining tickets, drawings, samples, or written specifications to ascertain size and type of components. They will move processed components between operations, confirm job completion, measure sizes against job tickets, and feed or tail machines. A key part of the role involves performing initial inspections of products, inspecting materials for damage or conformity to specifications, and correcting flaws. The General Worker will also document remakes and rejects, verify product counts, and attach work tickets. They will pick up and place materials on conveyors, ensuring proper alignment for flow. Maintaining production demands, schedules, and efficiency are crucial, as is being familiar with materials, dimensions, and utilizing Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). The role requires the ability to follow simple instructions, keep the work area clean and organized, and strictly adhere to safe work practices, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a respirator. The General Worker must qualify for safe respirator use per program guidelines and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent.
  • Ability to print and speak simple words in English
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Constant standing (8-9 hours daily), bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Reads/examines tickets, drawings, samples, or written specifications to ascertain size, type
  • Move processed components from one operation to another on conveyors or carts
  • Confirm that jobs are complete
  • Measures sizes against the job ticket
  • Feeds or tails machines processing components
  • Performs an initial inspection of products coming to the area (See quality checklist)
  • Inspects materials or products for damage or for conformity to specifications
  • Corrects and Sand noticeable flaws
  • Performs quality inspection of product prior to next department
  • Documentation of remake rejects produced
  • Verify product count against job ticket for completed order and attaches work ticket where specified.
  • Picks up materials or products from conveyors, pallet, buggy or carts, and places materials or products onto conveyor and aligns materials or products on conveyor to insure proper flow
  • Be familiar with all phases of manufacturing and department
  • Maintain production demands schedules and efficiency
  • Familiar with materials and dimensions
  • Utilizes CPI - Continues Process Improvement
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two step instructions
  • Keeps area clean and organized
  • Knows, employs, and enforces safe work practices at all times
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn, including respirator
  • Must quality for safe use of respirator, per respiratory protection program guidelines
  • Performs other related duties as required
