About The Position

Responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the warehouse facility. The position performs general warehouse duties within an assigned area and supports all areas of warehouse operations as needed. Work includes moving, checking, sorting, labeling, replenishing, selecting, and loading merchandise, as well as reporting issues and meeting safety, productivity, and quality standards.

Requirements

Communication skills sufficient to communicate with co-workers, understand and provide directions, respond to management inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Basic knowledge of simple math concepts.
Ability to use a Radio Frequency Unit.
Ability to learn basic knowledge of the use and operation of motorized merchandise movement equipment.
Ability to maintain annual certification requirements.
Continuous lifting of merchandise up to 65 pounds on a regular basis and occasional team lifting of merchandise up to 85 pounds.
Continuous walking, including long distances and up and down stairs.
Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet above ground.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and push and pull using hands and/or arms repetitively above and below shoulder level.
Ability to work continuously for up to 12 hours.
Ability to work in extreme heat and cold conditions and exposure to dust and noise.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience working in an automated distribution center preferred.
Experience with warehouse management systems applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Move incoming or outgoing merchandise throughout the distribution center by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment.
Check, verify, and audit merchandise to ensure ordered merchandise has been received and is as ordered and not damaged or defective; enter data into a remote data terminal.
Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise onto flats.
Replenish pick areas as identified by replenishment reports and requests for merchandise.
Fill merchandise orders from stores by selecting and moving merchandise from pick slots to conveyors.
Load outgoing merchandise from conveyors and/or four-wheel trucks into trailers.
Report damages and/or vendor compliance issues to a supervisor.
Partner with a supervisor to resolve problems or discrepancies.
Meet safety, productivity, and quality standards.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
