About The Position

Universal Tube is looking for an experienced manual machinist who knows how to set up and run engine lathes and Bridgeport mills and can figure out how to make or repair a part without being told every step. This is not a production CNC job. We are looking for someone who has spent years making tooling, repairing tooling, building fixtures, machining one-off parts, and solving manufacturing problems. If you can look at a print or a broken component and figure out how to make it right, you may be the person we're looking for. Your experience matters here. We aren't looking for someone who needs a detailed instruction sheet for every job. We're looking for a seasoned machinist who can walk into the tool room, look at a problem, and know how to solve it.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on manual machining experience
• Extensive manual engine lathe experience
• Extensive Bridgeport milling experience
• Tool room, tool & die, or job shop experience
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Ability to hold tight tolerances
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools
• Ability to work independently
• 10+ YEARS MANUAL MACHINING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• MANUAL LATHE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• BRIDGEPORT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
