About The Position

The General Technician will support the manufacture of existing product lines, assembly of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), prototype unit assembly, and maintenance of lab equipment. You will directly support the entire team and collaborate closely with engineers, quality control, and leadership to develop spaceflight electronics. The General Technician position has excellent opportunities for growth as you expand your skillset and become more familiar with company products and processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0 – 6 years of technician work experience
  • Familiarity or interest in CCA surface mount SMT soldering 0402 or larger components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, integrated circuits, and through hole components such as connectors and transformers
  • Ability to perform operations under a microscope or other magnifying devices while using fine hand tools
  • Ability to use a computer, including fluency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain and follow processes and procedures
  • Ability to sit and operate at a workstation (soldering iron, microscopes, etc.) for long periods (e.g., up to 10-hour shifts) is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and interest in electrical or mechanical assembly (hobbies, auto projects, etc.)
  • Prior experience of rework, modification, or repair of electronic assemblies
  • Space hardware experience or exposure
  • Experience in J-STD-001 and other IPC standards such as IPC-A-610, and/or NASA/JPL certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Use various hand and power tools, such as cutters, tweezers, crimpers, soldering irons, and wire strippers
  • Support overtime and weekend work occasionally
  • Must maintain a safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, policies, and regulations
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address issues
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Work among a team of individuals assembling products for our customers
  • Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned
