About The Position

The General Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on hotel rooms, ensuring all items are fully operational and guest-ready prior to check-in. This includes inspecting and ensuring the functionality of outlets, lighting fixtures, televisions and remotes, toilet, faucet, and shower fixtures, doors, and furniture. The role also involves responding to guest service calls for in-room issues. This is a highly visible position requiring frequent guest interaction, so professionalism and good customer service skills are essential. The technician must ensure hotel rooms are safe and fully operational.

Requirements

Minimum of one year experience in general maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Perform regularly scheduled inspection of each hotel room on a rotating basis to ensure everything is in working order.
Ensure all items contained within the hotel room are fully operational prior to check-in of a guest.
Ensure all outlets are in working order.
Ensure all lighting fixtures have working bulbs.
Ensure television and remote control are operational.
Ensure toilet, faucet and shower fixtures are working and properly affixed to the wall.
Ensure doors close freely and are not warped.
Ensure furniture is secure and stable; drawers are on track.
Complete a daily walk through of designated areas and completion of a checklist.
Attend to guest service calls in the event an item needs to be addressed in a guest room.
Demonstrate professionalism at all times and have good customer service skills.
Handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results.
