General Surgery NP/PA (Bariatrics)
About The Position
Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Department of General Surgery - Division of Bariatric Surgery. Join an established hospital based General Surgery group of 11 Surgeons and 4 Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC). Metabolic & Bariatrics subspecialty of currently 3 Surgeons and 1 APC. Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region. Responsibilities will include mostly OR – first assistant in large cases that require a second clinician, some outpatient clinic and call coverage. Extensive surgical and inpatient hospital experience is essential.
Requirements
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS Certification
- DEA Required
- Extensive surgical and inpatient hospital experience
Responsibilities
- First assist in large cases that require a second clinician in the OR
