About The Position

This is a temporary position through the end of the year 2026. The General Support Associate interacts with customers, visitors, vendors, and guests in person, over the telephone, and via email. This role provides general information and answers questions about Buck Knives. The associate is responsible for maintaining the lobby and museum's cleanliness and appearance. Open availability is required Monday through Saturday, with mandatory overtime during sales events throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Has a pleasant, patient and friendly attitude.
  • Experience using office equipment including multi-line telephone system, fax machine, copy machine, and postage meter.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Strong decision making and analytical abilities.
  • Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the company objectives by providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Conducts factory tours.
  • Operates cash register and processes cash, debit, and credit card sale transactions.
  • Keeps store clean and organized.
  • Sorts and processes all incoming mail.
  • Answers all incoming phone calls and answers questions or transfers to the correct person/department.
  • Greets visitors entering the lobby, determines the reason for their visit, logs them in, and provides a guest badge if applicable.
  • Directs customers to the store for shopping and/or factory tours.
  • Provides backup for the Warranty and Factory Store, as needed.
  • Answers Factory Store phone calls and sets up tour dates in Outlook.
  • Welcomes guests.
  • Assists with all employment requests.
  • Ability to handle sharp knives and other items.
  • Complies with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
