General Supervising Electrician (Oregon)

TorusSherwood, OR
$155,000 - $170,000Onsite

About The Position

As the General Supervising Electrician within Overwatch, you will be the foundational cornerstone of Torus’s expansion into the Pacific Northwest. You will take the successful blueprint we have established in Utah and build it from the ground up in Oregon. You will serve as the highest field-level technical authority across Torus's fleet spanning battery (BESS) and flywheel (FESS) installations across multiple regions and jurisdictions. This role is intended for a highly experienced electrical leader who has already spent a decade or more in the field and several years directing multiple crews. You are the final word on complex technical judgment calls in the field, the person other Journeymen and Leads escalate to when a problem exceeds their authority, and the standard-setter for how Torus performs electrical work safely and correctly across every jurisdiction it operates in. You carry deep, hands-on expertise across commercial, residential, industrial, and utility-scale electrical equipment, and you bring that breadth to bear on rapidly evolving energy storage technology. Beyond the field, you are a key voice inside Overwatch, shaping how Torus monitors, dispatches, and supports its fleet, and a direct line of feedback into Product, ensuring what gets designed and built reflects what actually works in the field. You are a seasoned electrical leader who has done the work at every level and is now ready to set the standard for how it's done across an entire fleet. You think in systems not just individual sites and you're comfortable being the final technical authority when something needs to get resolved correctly and quickly. You lead by example, communicate clearly under pressure, and take real ownership of the safety and quality of every job across your regions. You're motivated by building something durable: standards, people, and processes that outlast any single site or shift.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on field electrical experience, with 5–10+ years operating at a senior/lead technical level
  • 5+ years of experience managing or directing multiple field teams simultaneously, across sites or regions
  • Statewide familiarity and hands-on experience working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), including permitting, inspections, and code interpretation across multiple municipalities
  • Broad, direct experience with commercial, residential, industrial, and utility-scale electrical equipment
  • Deep, demonstrated expertise in energy storage systems (BESS/FESS), including system integration, interconnection, and advanced troubleshooting
  • Single and three phase experience required working on 120/240 systems to 277/480 systems
  • Deep knowledge of AC/DC systems, grounding, fault current mitigation, and arc flash safety

  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, diagnostics, and control system integration

  • Partner with Torus Overwatch Command (TOC) as a senior escalation point for critical site issues, root cause investigations, and complex shutdowns
  • Act as a key contributor to Overwatch process development, providing field-informed feedback that shapes monitoring, dispatch, and service protocols
  • Serve as a direct technical feedback channel into Product, surfacing field failure modes, design gaps, and improvement opportunities from real-world deployments
  • Review and approve complex system upgrades, de-energization/shutdown plans, and non-standard troubleshooting approaches before execution
  • Ensure all field work meets code and regulatory standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable state/AHJ requirements)
