About The Position

At Fiorilli Construction, we're looking for a General Superintendent who can see and proactively forecast execution of all projects in the field for top milestones ahead, lead strong Superintendents and trade partners, and take ownership before small issues become expensive ones. This role involves managing company-wide field operations on all jobs in a proactive, not reactive, manner. This is an Executive level senior field-leadership role with real accountability for manpower, schedule execution, field systems, spend, safety, and risk within a technology-forward commercial GC where relationships, transparency, and delivering what we promise are part of the operating system and culture. Fiorilli's #1 differentiator is its culture, Core Focus, and Core Values. We build through a customer-centric approach, "Building Together" culture, and a 'Fio-Family' environment that encourages people to grow, contribute, and take ownership. We're also serious about working smarter: Fiorilli is virtual, mobile, and digital, using platforms such as Jonas Premier, Fieldwire, and weekly Virtual Tours to improve visibility and execution. As General Superintendent, you are the senior field connector among the Director of Construction, Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders. Your scorecard is built around five accountabilities: MANPOWER, PROJECT FIELD MILESTONES, FIELD SYSTEMS & PROCESSES, FIELD SPEND, and FIELD RISK. The work is varied, serving commercial markets across the Midwest in sectors including retail; restaurant/QSR; convenience, fuel and grocery; self-storage/light industrial; multifamily/mixed-use/hospitality; healthcare; education/childcare/religious; commercial office; and sports/recreation. Project types include new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, and program-based work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive professional commercial construction experience, with demonstrated Superintendent or senior field-leadership responsibility
  • Proven ability to lead Superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors while maintaining schedule, quality, safety, and accountability
  • Strong manpower planning, scheduling, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and field cost-control skills
  • Working knowledge of subcontractor mobilization prerequisites, safety/compliance documentation, additional-work authorization, incident reporting, and field risk escalation
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills with clients, trade partners, Project Managers, and field leaders
  • Strong digital fluency; comfort with construction field systems is required
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to assigned commercial construction jobsites
  • Professionalism is non-negotiable
  • Can be direct without damaging relationships
  • Likes using technology, documentation, and clear accountability to make the field run better

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jonas Premier and Fieldwire is highly valued

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations, forecast and coordinate FCI manpower, develop Superintendents, verify scope/quality execution, lead jobsite relationships, and run a safety-first field culture with documented weekly coordination and safety meetings.
  • Own field start-up readiness and drive the project schedule. Every week, every project, know whether the next three leading milestones are ON or OFF track, remove constraints, verify pre-mobilization requirements, and course-correct underperforming trade partners quickly.
  • Drive the FCI Way and strong adoption of Jonas and Fieldwire to a 90% strong field-utilization standard, with current reporting, documented issues/To-Dos, meeting minutes, progress photos, and weekly visual/Virtual Tour communication.
  • Control field-driven costs and assigned operations expenses. Require written subcontractor extra-work support and required Owner authorization, review assigned invoices/expenses, and stop idle or avoidable spend before it erodes the job.
  • Lead field risk resolution across safety, incidents, insurance claims, OSHA/Drug-Free compliance, required postings, training/certifications, workers' compensation documentation, and MCO/TPA coordination as assigned - with clear ownership, escalation, evidence, and verified closure.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary plus quarterly profit-based incentives centered on individual and company achievement
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance plus HSA company matching
  • 401(k) retirement/profit-sharing plan with company matching
  • Paid vacation, sick, holiday, birthday/work-anniversary, and concentrated time-off benefits, subject to role and project requirements
  • Short-term disability, travel reimbursement, and health/wellness resources
  • Career-development and internal-growth opportunities through Fiorilli University programs
  • Company events and employee-led initiatives supporting Fiorilli's work-hard / play-hard culture
