About The Position

American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) is seeking General Superintendent candidates for upcoming secure projects OCONUS. AICI-SP is a leading construction firm in the Department of State, Overseas Building Operations (OBO) program, consistently winning important contracts. The company fosters a culture of innovation and is looking for dynamic individuals who hold an active secret security clearance, may have held one recently, or have the ability to obtain one. Experience working with Department of State OBO or U.S. Corps of Engineer as a client, and any international experience, is highly valued. The General Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of all site construction activities and supervision of all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States
Must have an active U.S. secret level security clearance
10 or more years of commercial/nonresidential general superintendent experience
Knowledge, skill, and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards
Must be willing to work overseas

Nice To Haves

International construction industry experience interacting with various diverse cultures
Overseas Building Operations (OBO) experience preferred
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in a related field or 15 year of experience as a large project leader

Responsibilities

Management and supervision of Site field staff
Supervision of the actual physical construction of the project in strict accordance with the contract documents
Verification of safety compliance with all trades
Responsible for coordinating and managing all of the disciplines required to complete the contract
Maintain and plan reports, work-arounds, shutdowns and tie-ins
Enforce safety and quality-control policies
Monitor schedule to ensure that they are meeting goals budget
Maintain records of material and labor costs
Plan the use of supplies and materials to guard against loss and to ensure that vital materials are ordered and delivered to meet schedule
Direction and day-to-day coordination of trade Superintendent to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule
Maintain satisfactory relationships with clients and subcontractors
Ability to work in a team environment with other Project Managers, Engineers and Superintendents
Other duties as assigned by Project Manager or Operations Manager
