About The Position
The General Superintendent HVAC and Electrical Distribution - Facilities Services - UTK position is responsible for leading employees in their duties and providing service to all areas of the campus. This role involves laying out work, providing technical direction for tasks, and offering training opportunities for field employees to prepare them for advancement. The General Superintendent will support the Assistant Director of Utilities Distribution in their duties and act as a substitute during their absence. Responsibilities include ordering materials for special projects and work orders, maintaining critical campus systems, and assisting other shops and departments with various projects. The role also involves interacting with campus contractors to ensure work is completed to campus standards and assisting Engineering with system design and current conditions.
Requirements
- Experience in HVAC and Electrical Distribution.
- Ability to lead employees and provide technical direction.
- Experience in ordering materials for projects and work orders.
- Knowledge of maintaining critical campus systems.
- Ability to assist other departments with projects.
- Experience interacting with contractors and ensuring work meets standards.
- Familiarity with assisting Engineering in system design and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead employees in the performance of their duties and service to all areas of campus.

- Provide support for the Assistant Director of Utilities Distribution and fill in during their absence.

- Assist other shops and departments on campus in the performance and completion of various projects and requests.
- Interact with campus contractors to ensure work performed is completed within campus standards.
- Assist Engineering in the design and current conditions of systems.
