POSITION OVERVIEW The General Sales Manager is responsible for the performance of the new and used vehicle departments while ensuring operational excellence across all variable operations. Areas of responsibility include: Sales process execution CRM and lead management Inventory acquisition, pricing, merchandising, and aging control Digital retail and internet operations Marketing and advertising effectiveness Personnel development and recruiting CSI and customer retention Variable and semi-fixed expense management

Requirements

  • Previous GSM or high-level Sales Manager experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background check, motor vehicle report, and pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Proven success as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, or equivalent automotive leadership role
  • Chevrolet, domestic franchise, or high-volume franchise experience preferred
  • Strong desk management and deal structure knowledge
  • Experience improving variable gross, used vehicle performance, inventory turn, and CRM/process execution
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and accountability skills
  • High urgency, resilience, and ownership mentality

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
  • Drive new and used vehicle sales performance and profitability
  • Hold accountability around appointments, closing ratios, follow-up, and CRM hygiene
  • Oversee inventory strategy, stocking levels, pricing, and turn
  • Partner closely with Finance, Fixed Ops, and Executive Leadership
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop top automotive talent
  • Monitor KPIs, forecasting, and departmental performance trends
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively
  • Ensure compliance with OEM, legal, and company standards
