About The Position

The General Resource Room Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in a general education setting. This role involves developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education teachers, and monitoring student progress. The teacher will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students. This position is located at the Peterson Academic Center.

Requirements

Valid Nevada Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education.
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Experience working with students with disabilities.
Knowledge of special education law and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Special Education.
Experience with specific disabilities relevant to the student population.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
