About The Position

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for General Production at its Long Prairie, Minnesota plant. This role involves working 8-11+ hours per day, 5-6 days per week, specifically hiring for the day shift ONLY. The position requires performing a variety of specialized tasks in different environmental conditions (warm, hot, humid, wet, cold, or damp) and may involve the proper use of tools such as knives, hooks, saws, or other specialized equipment. The job demands physical tasks requiring upper body strength and constant repetitive movements, standing on hard surfaces for the entire shift, and the use of stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE). Compliance with all food safety policies and regulations, adherence to safety and housekeeping processes, and maintaining a strong safety culture are essential. Employees are expected to identify and communicate workplace hazards and collaborate with a diverse work population. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense.

Nice To Haves

Prior harvest or fabrication experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork or poultry facility.
Prior production experience.
Work history in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a warm, hot, humid or wet environment.

Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Work and collaborate with a diverse work population.
Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a cold, wet, or damp environment.
Properly use hook, knife, saw, band saw or other equipment to perform specialized tasks, remove bones, trim, skin, separate, sort or cut standard or premium cuts of meat to specifications in preparation for further processing or packaging.
