About The Position

Fosdick Fulfillment is hiring for Part-Time General Production positions. This position works within the production and/or warehouse departments of the company in various capacities including Packer, Online Returns Processor, Sorter, Manifest Operator, and Order Selector. The role requires regular and predictable onsite attendance and involves accurately picking and packing merchandise, assembling orders, processing returns, and potentially operating manifest systems. Employees are expected to achieve set rates, comply with safety regulations, and maintain a clean work area. This position works under the general supervision of a Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and understand label placement on retail shipments.
Ability to read and comprehend all necessary work transactions, including customer return notes if necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively with leads, supervisors and coworkers.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Detail oriented.
Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Accurately pick and/or pack merchandise into a carton or shipping bag along with designated paperwork and/or inserts.
Secure label and/or order set onto parcel and may scan order using radio frequency (RF) gun or computer.
Stack and secure packages to a pallet or in a large box in an orderly fashion.
Assemble orders, product sets and/or kits.
If processing returns: open packages and remove invoice/return form and merchandise.
If processing returns: scan or key client order number or name, verify customer name, address and order number.
If processing returns: input reason for return using parcel markings, customer notes and/or comments.
If processing returns: use independent judgment in determining a quality rating.
Inspect returned merchandise for quality, determine 1st, 2nd, and damaged quality.
Sort returned merchandise by client and/or product SKU # and place product in designated location.
Return 1st quality merchandise back into inventory.
Follow client requests for 2nd quality and damaged merchandise.
May require working knowledge of the manifest system and specific functions needed to complete the job.
If manifesting orders, check manifest scale to ensure that it is set at 0.0 before each package.
If manifesting special requests, review request and work orders for specific shipping details or changes.
If manifesting, scan barcode, key all pertinent information into computer if scanner fails to read barcode.
Assist in sorting product by ship method and stack on pallet or place in shroud.
Assist, if necessary, with physical inventories.
Achieve rates as set forth by manager, supervisor or lead.
Assist, if necessary, with training of temporary employees.
May act as a subject matter expert or trainer for a small cell of employees during peak periods.
Comply with safety rules and regulations.
Maintain clean work area in accordance with company standards.
Assist, when necessary, with other production and/or warehouse related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
