Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work their scheduled shift and potentially overtime.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Willingness to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts.
Willingness to work in cold and warm environments.
Willingness to work in a wet and humid environment.
Willingness to wear required PPE.
Willingness to work in a noisy environment.
Willingness to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals.
Willingness to work around strong smells/odors.
Willingness to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms.
Willingness to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively.
Willingness to walk long distances.

Experience with hand tools, knives, and machinery.
Certification in order to operate various pieces of equipment required for the position.

Responsibilities

Perform essential production tasks using hand tools, knives, machinery, and other equipment to process meat products.
Support coworkers and contribute to a positive work environment.
Maintain a safe and efficient production line.
Ensure products reach consumers.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching, flexing, and extending arms.
Stand for up to a 12-hour shift.
Work with knives (if trained).
Work in cold (20-40 degrees) and/or warm (over 100 degrees) areas.
Work in a wet and humid environment.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes.
Work in a noisy environment.
Work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals.
Work around strong smells/odors.
Climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms.
Bend, stoop, and twist repetitively.
Walk long distances.
May require certification to operate various pieces of equipment.
Perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs.
Perform single lifting of heavy objects up to 60 lbs.
Lift objects using mechanical assistance.
