About The Position

Wayland Union Schools is seeking a General Paraprofessional to support students, teachers, and building operations. The position provides academic and behavioral support to students through individualized and small-group assistance, while also helping maintain school routines and supervising students during recess and lunch. The role works under the direction of professional staff and the Building Principal. Attendance is an essential function. Employment is for student days, 26.25 hours per week, under the SEIU Aide position and Aides Collective Bargaining Agreement. Employment is subject to passing post-offer background checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Be discreet in communication and maintain confidentiality.
• Be capable of following directives from professional staff.
• Have a dependable, punctual, and positive work history.
• Be able to utilize technology and Google applications.
• Pass post-offer background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with adolescent-aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support building needs, including recess and lunch supervision.
• Provide academic and behavioral support to students through one-on-one and small-group instruction, behavior interventions, sensory breaks, and other individualized supports as needed.
• Assist teachers in other areas as directed.
• Support building routines as outlined by the Building Principal.
• Perform other duties as assigned by an administrator.
• Maintain attendance, which is an essential function of the position.
