About The Position

Fulton Montgomery Medical, P.C. is actively seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible General Orthopedic Surgeon to join their expanding regional orthopedic practice in Amsterdam, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to build a thriving practice while working alongside a collaborative team of fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation professionals, and dedicated support staff. As part of the expanding orthopedic practice, the surgeon will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care utilizing advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based treatment approaches. This role offers state-of-the-art technology, a robust referral network, and the support needed to develop a successful, patient-centered practice. The position is a full-time, hospital-employed role operating as Fulton Montgomery Medical, P.C., serving a regional orthopedic partnership that caters to over 100,000 residents across multiple counties. The orthopedic service line is in high demand with consistent case volume and growth opportunities, supported by a strong referral base from an extensive primary care and specialty network. The team includes fellowship-trained specialists and APP support, and the facilities are state-of-the-art, equipped with advanced imaging, rehabilitation services, and the Da Vinci XI Robotic Surgery System.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Must obtain New York State medical license prior to start date
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with completion of an accredited orthopedic residency program
  • Strong clinical judgment, surgical expertise, and excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Bone & Joint Surgery, Adult Reconstruction, and/or Total Joint Replacement is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions through both surgical and non-surgical approaches
  • Perform orthopedic surgical procedures with a focus on patient safety, quality, and outcomes
  • Provide outpatient clinic services, inpatient rounding, and surgical coverage
  • Collaborate with orthopedic colleagues, physical therapists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options, post-operative care, and preventive measures
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality initiatives and stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery
