About The Position

This is a .5 FTE non-continuing position for a General Music Teacher at Cedar Valley that begins upon hire through the end of the current 2026-27 school year ONLY. The Edmonds School District is seeking an enthusiastic and culturally responsive General Music Specialist to serve Cedar Valley Elementary – a vibrant, diverse school and community. This 0.5 FTE General Music position runs the full 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will deliver the Edmonds School District's comprehensive General Music curriculum, a foundational program designed to build students' music literacy, creative expression, and cultural appreciation across grade levels. We are looking for a passionate educator who celebrates diversity and creates an inclusive, joyful musical environment where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired.

Requirements

  • Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Music endorsement, or the ability to obtain one prior to the position start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates that currently have an ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsement.
  • SIOP training and GLAD training offered by the Multilingual Education Department will be required for all new employees unless they can show evidence of having completed SIOP and GLAD training previously. Training will need to be completed within the first two years of employment.
