About The Position

This role is for a General Merchandise/Health and Beauty Care (GM/HBC) Manager in a grocery store setting, primarily handling non-grocery items. The manager is responsible for the department's results, focusing on superior customer service, increasing sales, improving gain, and controlling costs. This position involves training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties to GM/HBC Clerks, as well as implementing merchandising programs, managing inventory, and maintaining the department's appearance.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service as defined by the employer within the scope of the position and company policy.
Train, schedule, and supervise GM/HBC workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
Speak with customers to resolve problems with sales, dissatisfaction with service or product, or other problems related to the operation of the GM/HBC area.
Maintain cleanliness of department and storage area.
Replace stock in displays and on shelves as needed.
Ensure all expired items are removed from the shelves daily.
Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
Write and input orders into the store computer.
Monitor inter-office mail and company web page daily for updated information.
Other duties as assigned.
