As General Manager, you will provide strategic direction and hands-on operational leadership for a small to mid-sized warehouse with broad responsibilities and complexity. You’ll own the operation end-to-end while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence remain at the forefront. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple facilities across our British Columbia region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of Operations Management experience in Supply Chain or related field
  • Strong experience managing in a unionized environment (highly preferred)
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic and annual operational plans
  • Strong financial acumen and cost management expertise
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing operational teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong communication skills — able to present technical information to diverse audiences
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to drive productivity and engagement
  • Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Lead within a unionized environment, partnering effectively with union representatives and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
  • Deliver on critical KPIs including Labor to Revenue (LTR), truck turn times, and customer service standards
  • Analyze warehouse activities and costs to identify process improvements
  • Manage budgets, capital expenditures, material handling equipment, and space utilization
  • Drive bottom-line results through strategic planning and execution
  • Partner with Sales to support marketing and new account strategies
  • Participate in prospecting, sales calls, rate development, contract negotiation, and closing
  • Strengthen customer relationships and ensure service excellence
  • Champion food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Support proper receipt, storage, handling, and distribution processes
  • Ensure employee health and safety in both cold and dry storage environments
