Requirements

  • 5 years minimum of previous successful experience as a general manager
  • Experience in imports
  • Used car knowledge with a Velocity approach to selling used cars
  • Ability to motivate and train a team
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize software systems

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all of the dealership’s components including both variable and fixed operations, and the business office to ensure profitability.
  • Motivate and coordinate the dealership’s management through leadership and solid business practices.
  • Set realistic, attainable monthly and annual sales and gross profit objectives for the dealership.
  • Establish and maintain record keeping to accurately track dealership operations and performance, and hold the leaders accountable to these performance metrics.
  • Conduct weekly leadership meetings. Continually coach, mentor, train and provide feedback to the leaders to allow them to achieve optimal success in their roles.
  • Establish and hold the teams accountable to department policies and procedures for optimal efficiency, productivity, and team member safety.
  • Cascade all appropriate communication to leaders and/or team in a timely manner.
  • Achieve sales and service CSI goals with the team.
  • Align with ONE Dahl with regards to culture development and accountability.
  • Identify and source candidates to fill critical roles within the dealership.
  • Focus on and resolve guest complaints that department leaders are not able to rectify.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for dealership leaders in a timely manner, and hold the leaders accountable to doing the same for their team members.
  • Work with the Support Team and BDC to effectively and efficiently operate the sales business.
  • Partnering with the dealership controller, monitor and handle items such as receivables, CITs, inventory, etc. in a timely manner.
