About The Position

We are seeking a full-time General Manager for IHOP who is a natural leader and thrives in a high-performance and energetic environment. This role involves executing financial, local restaurant marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives. The General Manager will manage the restaurant floor, ensure regular guest contact, handle guest complaints professionally, and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Key responsibilities include recruitment, training, and retention of employees, ongoing coaching, administering compensation plans, and documenting performance issues. The role also requires ensuring food quality meets specifications, managing inventory and ordering, overseeing equipment and premises maintenance, ensuring sanitation and security, implementing marketing promotions, and completing all required reports.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • Basic math skills

Responsibilities

  • Executing annual financial, local restaurant marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives.
  • Managing the restaurant floor and ensuring regular contact with guests.
  • Maintaining guest complaints within acceptable limits and handling concerns professionally and timely.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Recruitment, training, and retention of employees.
  • Conducting ongoing coaching and administering the restaurant hourly compensation plan.
  • Documenting performance problems.
  • Ensuring food meets SOP specifications, recipes, plating, and garnishes, and is served at appropriate temperatures within standard ticket times.
  • Maintaining adequate levels of supplies, including food, paper, kitchen, safety, janitorial, uniform, linen, and miscellaneous items.
  • Ordering food in a timely manner, keeping inventory to a minimum, and avoiding out-of-stock items.
  • Overseeing the operational condition of equipment, building structure, and premises, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and SOP.
  • Ensuring sanitation practices and security measures are in place.
  • Implementing national and local marketing promotions.
  • Completion of all required reports and paperwork.
