About The Position

This is more than a traditional General Manager role—it is an opportunity to lead one of Mississippi's premier full-service hotels while continuing to build upon its reputation for exceptional service, operational excellence, and financial performance. Located in the heart of downtown Jackson, The Westin Jackson features 203 beautifully appointed guestrooms and suites, nearly 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, an elegant ballroom and breakout rooms, the acclaimed Estelle Southern Table restaurant and Soul Spa. The hotel serves business travelers, leisure guests, weddings, and corporate and social events while providing the elevated wellness experience synonymous with the Westin brand. We are seeking a strategic, commercially driven, and people-focused General Manager who will lead all aspects of hotel operations while continuing to strengthen the property's market position, financial performance, and guest satisfaction. This leader will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, maximizing commercial opportunities, developing high-performing teams, and cultivating a culture where associates are empowered to deliver exceptional hospitality every day. The ideal candidate understands how to balance outstanding guest experiences with sound business acumen, bringing expertise in luxury or upscale hotel operations, revenue strategy, associate development, group and catering business, and operational execution. This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with ownership, Marriott, and Crescent Hotels & Resorts to ensure continued success and long-term asset value. Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a General Manager within a full-service hotel environment.
  • Proven success leading an upscale or luxury hotel operation required.
  • Marriott full-service brand experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience overseeing hotels with significant group, catering, and banquet operations preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success driving revenue performance, market share, and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong understanding of hotel financials, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and P&L management.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with ownership groups, brand partners, and local community leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of hotel operations with a strong focus on guest satisfaction, service excellence, profitability, and associate engagement.
  • Create and maintain a guest-centric culture that inspires associates to consistently deliver exceptional hospitality experiences aligned with Westin brand standards.
  • Drive financial performance through strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, revenue optimization, and expense management.
  • Analyze operational and financial reporting to identify opportunities and implement strategies that maximize profitability, RevPAR, market share, and overall hotel performance.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, Catering, and Food & Beverage leaders to strengthen the hotel's positioning and drive commercial performance across all market segments.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing executive and departmental leadership team.
  • Foster a collaborative and service-driven culture focused on accountability, communication, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong visibility throughout the hotel while ensuring exceptional product quality, cleanliness, and execution of Marriott brand standards.
  • Maximize the performance of the hotel's meeting and event space by partnering with the commercial team to drive group, catering, and banquet revenue while delivering memorable guest experiences.
  • Build strong relationships within the local community and represent the hotel positively with ownership, Marriott, guests, business partners, civic organizations, and industry associations.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources to support associate relations, talent development, succession planning, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Travel periodically for corporate meetings, leadership initiatives, Marriott brand meetings, and industry events.
