About The Position

The General Manager position is responsible for operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing product, receiving and processing telephone orders, and taking inventory. This role also involves cleaning equipment and the facility. Training is provided on the job. The position requires the ability to comprehend and give written instructions, and to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers. Essential skills include accurate and quick calculation, making correct monetary change, verbal, writing, and telephone skills, eye-hand coordination for precise movements, and the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The work environment involves varying weather conditions, in-store temperatures ranging from 36 to 90+ degrees, sudden temperature changes, fumes, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. For those in driver or store management positions, duties also include delivering product by car and to the customer's door, and delivering flyers and door hangers. This requires a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle. Essential skills for delivery include navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses, and the ability to navigate adverse terrain while carrying product. Physical demands for delivery include carrying pizzas, sides, and beverages while walking and climbing, driving within a designated area, walking between the store and vehicle and to the customer's location, and climbing five or more flights of stairs. Exposure during delivery includes varying and adverse weather conditions. Sensory requirements for driving include far vision and night vision.

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position.
  • Walking: Walking is generally in short distances for short durations.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Carrying: Ability to carry large cans weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds, and trays of pizza dough weighing approximately 12 pounds.
  • Pushing: Ability to push trays on dollies requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force.
  • Climbing: Ability to navigate stairs or climb a ladder infrequently.
  • Stooping/Bending: Necessary at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking ingredients.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Performed continuously; up, down and forward.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination is essential. Use of hands is continuous. Frequent and/or forceful use of forearms and wrists for shaping pizza dough. Ability to manipulate a pizza peel, rolling cutter, grasp cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
